From Cusco: Excursion to Machu Picchu full day – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

we will pick you up from your hotel 30 minutes before the departure time from Cusco. We will then take you to the train station located in the town of Ollantaytambo, which is approximately a 1 hour and 30-minute car ride. From there, we will board the train and embark on a 2 hour journey to the town of Aguas Calientes 2000 masl.

Upon arrival at the train station, our guide will be waiting for you with a sign bearing your names. together, you will proceed to the bus station and ascend 400 meters along a zigzagging path for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the incredible wonder of the world, “she sanctuary of machu picchu,” also known as “the lost city of the incas.”

At the entrance of the machu picchu citadel, you will go through the control where you will present your entrance ticket. the guided tour will then commence, taking you to the main sites of the city, including the main square, the circular tower, the sacred solar clock, the royal rooms, the temple of the three windows, the cemeteries, and more. the guided tour will last for more than two hours.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the citadel and visit machu picchu at your own pace. Later, we will return to the town of aguas calientes, where you can enjoy lunch at one of the various restaurants.

In the afternoon, you will board the train back to cusco. please ensure that you arrive at the train station 30 minutes before the departure time. the return journey will follow the same route as the outbound trip. upon arrival at the ollantaytambo train station, we will be waiting to transfer you back to your hotel in cusco. the car ride from ollantaytambo to cusco takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.
