From Cusco: Choquequirao Adventure with meal |6Days-5Nights| - Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

Day 1: Cusco – Capuliyoc – Chikiska – Rosalina Beach

-Departure from Cusco at 5 am by private bus.
-4-hour trip, passing through Anta and Limatambo.
-Arrival at Abra de Capuliyoc, edge of the Apurimac Canyon, surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
-2 hour descent to Chikiska for lunch.
-Continuation of the walk for 1 hour to Rosalinas Beach.
-First night of the journey to Choquequirao and Machu Picchu in Playa Rosalinas.

Day 2: Rosalina Beach – Maranpata – Choquequirao.

-Breakfast and start of the journey.
-Ascent of 6 to 7 hours on a long and narrow road.
-Cross the bridge over the Apurimac River, surrounded by orchids.
-Arrival at the annexes of Santa Rosa Baja and Santa Rosa Alta in 1 hour and a half, short rest.
-Continuation to Marampata for lunch and first view of Choquequirao.
-2 more hours of walking to the sister city of Machu Picchu.
-Free afternoon to enjoy views of the canyon, condor sightings and sunset.
-We will camp near Choquequirao, second night.

Day 3: Choquequirao – Río Blanco – Maizal

-Breakfast and tour of the ruins of Choquequirao with a guide.
-Start of the road to Machu Picchu around noon.
-Passage through Choquequirao and descent to 1400 m (4600 feet).
-I pass through the ruins of Pincha Unuyoc.
-Arrival at the Río Blanco for a refreshing rest.
-Steep ascent to 1,200 m (3,900 ft) to Maizal camp at 3,000 m (9,840 ft).
-Possibly the most difficult day of the trip, but with preparation and determination, it can be overcome.

Day 4: Maizal – Yanama – Totora – Santa Teresa

-Departure from Maizal after breakfast.
-Ascent through the old silver mines of Victoria.
-Arrival at the highest point of the path, the San Juan Pass.
-Spectacular views of the Vilcabamba Mountain Range.
-Brief rest and lunch at this point.
-Continuation along a steep road to Yanama.
-Farewell to the muleteers and transfer by vehicle to Santa Teresa.
-I pass through the Totora pass and the village of Lucmabamba.
-Arrival in Santa Teresa with the option of taking a shower in the hot springs of Cocalmayo.

Day 5: Santa Teresa – Hydroelectric – Aguas Calientes

-After breakfast, travel by bus to Hidroeléctrica (40 minutes).
-Lunch at Hydroelectric.
-Walk along the train tracks, approximately 3 hours.
-Arrival in the town of Aguas Calientes, last night.

Day 6: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu

-Featured day: visit to Machu Picchu.
-Two shifts to enter the citadel.
-Enjoy the beautiful sunrise from this unique point.
-Two-hour guided tour of the ruins to learn about the place.
-Options to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (with reservation) or walk to Puerta del Sol or Inca Bridge (at no additional cost).
-Exploration of archaeological remains such as Inti Huatana, Temple of the Condor, Casa del Inca, among others.
-Upon completion, return from Machu Picchu and travel by train back to Cusco.
