From Cusco: Arcoiris Mountain and Red Valley | Full day | – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

The tour to the Rainbow Mountain and Red Valley starts with the pick up from your hotel (Cusco Historical Center) between 4:00 and 4:30 am for a 2 hour drive to Cusipata, where you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then we will continue our route until we reach Phullawasipata (4626 m.a.s.l.) where we will start the hike of approximately 2 hours of ascent, a hike with beautiful views of the Andean mountains. When you reach the top (5036 masl) after the guide you will have some free time to take pictures and then start descending this time through the Red Valley, the name is due to the special pigmentation of the soil which has a reddish colour due to the abundant amount of minerals. The return journey through the valley will take about 2 to 3 hours until you reach Phullawasipata where transport will be waiting to take you to enjoy a delicious lunch. Finally it is time to return to Cusco, you will be arriving at approximately 5pm and the car will drop you off one block away from Cusco’s main square.
