From Cusco: 4D/3N in the Amazon of the Manu National Park – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

Day 1: Cusco – Paucartambo – Cloud Forest
To begin the tour, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to adventure and cross the inter-Andean valleys and picturesque peasant communities. On the way you will visit the colonial town of Paucartambo and its interesting museum. You will also have lunch on the route. The route will continue towards the Cloud Forest, an area very rich in species such as bears, birds, orchids, bromeliads, ferns, lichens, etc. and then arrive at the lodge where you will have dinner and rest.

Day 2: – Amazon Lodge – Pillcopata – Atalaya Pier
This day you will get up early for an excursion where you will meet “el gallito de las rocas”
(national bird of Peru), after breakfast you will travel to the town of Pillcopata until you reach the port of Atalaya, from where we will begin the descent by boat while observing the flora and fauna. . Finally, you will arrive at the next lodge where you will have lunch and a night walk will be scheduled to observe insects and amphibians. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 4: Amazon Lodge – Visit the biodiversity of Manu
After breakfast you will embark on a morning walk where the guide will explain more about the interesting biodiversity in the Manu National Park. Later you will board a boat to cross the river and walk for 30 minutes along a beautiful trail where you will have the opportunity to paddle rustic canoes and observe birds, hopefully alligators, monkeys and capybaras.
For this day you also have the option of taking the Canopy tour: where you will go from tree to tree and their platforms using harnesses with a rail system. Finally you will return to the lodge for dinner and rest.

Day 4: Amazon Lodge – Claylicks – Cusco
Very early and after breakfast, you will board the boat to go to the Collpa, a river wall where parrots and macaws come down every morning to extract clay for their food. At the end of the activity you will return to the lodge to pack up and return to the Port of Atalaya, where the bus awaits that will return you to the city of Cusco.
