From Cusco: 3-Day Tour with Machu Picchu and City Tour – Cusco Region, Peru

Discover the best of Cusco and Machu Picchu on a 3-day tour. Visit the Koricancha Temple, the Plaza de Armas, and the Sacsayhuamán Fortress. Then, explore the Machu Picchu citadel with a guide.

Day 1: Cusco
Begin your visit with a transfer from the airport to drop off your luggage at the hotel. At 1:00 PM, start your tour of the city of Cusco, also known as the Imperial City and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Visit the Koricancha Temple, an ancient Inca palace and center of worship to the Sun God, on which the Dominican order built a church that remains standing to this day. Continue to the Plaza de Armas, where you will visit the Cathedral, the most important Catholic temple in the city.

End the tour by ascending in a van to the Sacsayhuamán Fortress, an impressive example of Incan military architecture, and visit other important places within the Incan culture, such as the archaeological site of Qenko. Finally, the day ends at your hotel.

Day 2: Cusco – Machu Picchu
Start the day with a transfer from your hotel in the historic center of Cusco to the office on Av. El Sol to board the bus that will take you to the train station in Ollantaytambo.

Board the train to Aguas Calientes and enjoy the impressive natural views. Upon arrival, walk to the bus station accompanied by your guide, who will indicate the location of recommended restaurants.

Take the Consettur bus to the Machu Picchu citadel. Once there, your guide will organize the group and give recommendations to make your visit as satisfying as possible.

After finishing your exploration of the Machu Picchu citadel, your guide will guide you to the bus stop. Return to Machu Picchu Pueblo and have free time to eat something or walk around.

Begin your transfer to the Ollantaytambo train station at 6:30 PM. Board the train to Ollantaytambo and be back in Ollantaytambo around 8:45 PM. From there, coordinate your return to your hotel in the Valley or Cusco.

Day 3: Airport
Transfer to the airport.
