From Cusco: 2 Days Excursion to Waqrapukara – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

Day 1 Cusco – Sangarara – Pitumarca – Waqrapukara.
We will pick you up from your hotel (Centro Historico) between 5:00 – 5:30 am to leave in direction to the south of Cusco. After 2 hours we will arrive to the Pomacanchi Lagoon, there will be time to take pictures of the memories, after arriving to Sangarara, place where you will enjoy the view, you will continue with the trip to the community of Pitumarka. There is where the hike to the archaeological centre of Waqrapukara begins, along the way you will be able to observe a great variety of flora and fauna (condor, llamas, alpacas, huallatas, Andean hummingbirds, vicuñas, wild horses, cattle, etc.). Upon arrival at Waqrapukara you will set up camp and have dinner.
Day 2 Waqrapukara – Cusco.
The day starts early to observe the sunrise and have a delicious breakfast. With all the energy recharged it is time to visit the majesty of Waqrapukara, in this place you will see the enclosure of the moon and the sun, Wiracocha’s enclosure, towers, main square, double and triple jamb gates, buildings and the majesty of the Apurimac canyon and rock formations in their natural state. After having visited all the attraction of Waqrapukara, it is time to return to the starting point where a delicious lunch is waiting, after lunch it is time to walk in the direction of the district of Sangarara and finally return to the city of Cusco, we will be arriving at 6:30 pm approx.
