EXPERIENCE:

With your guide, discover the rich, historical centre of Avignon, a UnescoWorld Heritage Site. Enjoy the panoramic view of the surroundings and the Rhône River, Pont d’Avignon by walking up to the top of the fortified city walls and Rochers des Doms. Visit the largest gothic-style Popes’ Palace whereby successive popes resided between 1309 and 1377. Continue on to the Place de l’Horloge, the Town Hall and the Theatre. Enjoy a glass of Côtes du Rhône wineserved in a place close to the palace. (operated only in english).
Discover the village of Roussillon and its colorful houses.
Take a look at Pont Julien, from the Roman time.
Drive through the village of Lacoste, where you will see the remains of the castle of the Marquis de Sade.
Free time in the dry-stone built hilltop village of Gordes.
NB : participants will be required to walk on cobblestone streets and climb many flights of steps during the tour. Therefore, comfortable walking shoes are recommended. Lunch on your own in Avignon after the walking tour.
