From Arequipa|| Full Day Salinas Lagoon Excursion – Arequipa, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

This tour begins with the pick up from your hotel in the city of Arequipa, between 6:00 and 6:30 am to start our journey to the Salinas Lagoon. During our tour we will stop in Chiguata, which is a typical village of the area, in this place we will have our continental breakfast.

We will know the flora and fauna of the Arequipa region surrounding the Salinas Lagoon. We will be able to observe the Misti volcano since we will be at the foot of it. During the tour we will see an Andean forest formed by small trees, called queñuales of this area.

Finally we will arrive at the Salinas Lagoon, if it is dry we will be able to see it with a white color like snow. And if there is water, we can approach the shore to see the large amount of salt that accumulates. You will also observe three types of flamingos that are found in this place, as well as alpacas and llamas typical of the area.

We will explore the surroundings of the lagoon and the area of the Lojen volcano, as well as the thermal baths. Afterwards you will have lunch on your own and return to Arequipa, arriving approximately at 16:30 hours.
