Florence: Full-Day Excursion from Rome – Florence, Italy

EXPERIENCE:

On our excursion to Florence you’ll experience the vast riches and the cultural and historical impact of Italy’s art capital, seeing half of the masterpieces Italy has to offer.

Known as the City of the Medici, this is the family that brought all the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance to Florence, developing this city into one of the world’s most prominent centers of culture.

Our tour starts at Michelangelo Square, where you’ll have panoramic views that provide an introduction to Florence. From here we’ll drive down to Santa Croce Church, the burial location of many important Italian figures from the arts and sciences, including Michelangelo and Galileo.

We’ll then drive around Florence, stopping at the Duomo, the Giotto Bell Tower, the Signoria Square and Palace, the Old Bridge and the Pitti Palace. We’ll continue on to either the Accademia Gallery or the Uffizi Gallery, depending on your preference. If you let us know in advance we can pre-arrange the tickets for admission. Among other world-famous works of art, Michelangelo’s “David” is housed at the Accademia.

If you are particularly interested in art and architecture, we can tailor this excursion to include masterpieces by Michelangelo or Raphael, Bernini or Caravaggio in many churches. We can also arrange a private licensed guide as an option at additional cost, so you can make the most of your art or architecture tour.
