Exploring Chavín de Huántar Monument & Querococha Lagoon – Ancash, Peru

EXPERIENCE

Our excursion begins with pick up from the hotel near the main square of Huaraz at 8:30 am.
We will travel to the Monument, passing through picturesque villages such as Recuay, Ticapampa and Catac. En route, we will cross the impressive Cordillera Blanca mountain range and make a brief stop at the Querococha Lagoon to enjoy its beauty.
Continuing our journey, we will pass through the Cahuish tunnel and the Callejón de Conchucos until we reach the city of Chavin. Here we will explore the remarkable archaeological complex, including its main centers such as the circular plaza, the castle, the labyrinths and the renowned arena.
After our visit to the archaeological site, we will venture to the Chavin Museum, where we will delve into the history and development of Peru’s first high Andean culture.
We will conclude our excursion by returning to Huaraz, with an estimated arrival time of around 7:00 pm.

(Please note that there will be a lunch break after the tour, during which you can enjoy a meal on your own. The average cost of lunch is approximately 30 soles).
