EXPERIENCE:

You’ll take the cable car that will lift you up to an altitude of 2,500 meters. From there, your adventure to discover the crater of the epic 2001 eruption will begin. You’ll feel as if you’ve landed on the moon, surrounded by a surreal landscape.

You’ll reach the Bove Valley Lookout at 2,750 meters and from here, you’ll take in spectacular views of Taormina and Syracuse, as well as carefully scrutinize the Crateri Sommitali, where magma is constantly bubbling. You’ll then head toward the mysterious crater depression called Cisternazza.

After such an extraordinary experience, you’ll return to an elevation of 2,500 meters to take the cable car worthily exhausted but with a rich collection of extraordinary memories. The uphill trek will take about 2 hours, while the descent will be another adventure of about 1 1/2 hours.
