Daily Tour to Pëllumbas Cave
The Black Cave, also known as the Pëllumbasi Cave (650 m above sea level), is considered one of the rarest karst caves and prehistoric settlements in Albania (declared a natural monument in 2002). The skeletons found in this cave, according to the Museum of Natural Sciences at the University of Florence, belong to the cave bear (Ursus Speleaus), who lived 400,000 to 10,000 years ago. There are only five such caves in all of Europe.

This karst cave, unlike similar caves in Europe, has remnants of human culture that, according to the Institute of Archeology, belong to the period from the Paleolithic to the Early Middle Ages. The cave is thought to have been inhabited since the beginning of human society, about 30,000 years ago.

The cave has dimensions of 360 m in length, 10 15 m in width, and 15 45 m in height, which are not final, and environments filled with stalactites and stalagmites constitute an object of special value for studying the evolution and paleogeography of the whole area as well as its groundwater circulation. It is filled with numerous microforms of underground karst relief of rare beauty and special tourist value.
