Embark on a 2-day adventure from Cusco to Waqrapukara. Explore Pomacanchi Lagoon and Pitumarka on a hike to the Waqrapukara archaeological site. Camp and dine surrounded by nature. On the second day, watch the sunrise, explore Waqrapukara’s majestic constructions, and return to Cusco after lunch.

Day 1 Cusco to Sangarara, Pitumarca, Waqrapukara

After an early morning pickup, head south of Cusco. On the way, pass through small villages before arriving at Pomacanchi Lagoon. Continue to Sangarara for breakfast and make your way to Pitumarka.

Start your hike to the archaeological center of Waqrapukara. Observe a great variety of flora and fauna including condors, llamas, alpacas, huallatas, Andean hummingbirds, vicuñas, wild horses, cattle, etc. Enjoy the serenity of nature.

Upon arrival at Waqrapukara, set up camp and have dinner.

Day 2 Waqrapukara to Cusco

After watching the sunrise, have breakfast. Then, prepare to explore the splendor of the ruins of Waqrapukara, including the temple of the sun and the moon, the enclosure of Wiracocha, towers, bleachers, the main square, double and triple jamb gates, bastions, and buildings.

Explore the Apurimac Canyon, one of the deepest in Peru, and its natural rock formations. After admiring the wonders of Waqrapukara, return to the starting point where a delicious lunch awaits. Then, walk to reach the district of Sangarara and return to the Cusco by evening.
