Cusco: Trek to Humantay Lagoon – Salkantay 2Days – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

The Humantay Lagoon with its crystal clear and beautiful waters, is located at the foot of the snowy Salkantay who together with the snowy Humantay forms the lagoon, to reach the lagoon is an arduous hike, but you can enjoy the beautiful landscapes that you pass to reach the place. This lagoon is considered as a gift from the Pachamama, because its waters are very important for the nearby fields.

Itinerary:
Day 1: Cusco – Humantay – Quiswarniyoc Camp
• We begin the tour with pickup from your hotel to depart Cusco very early towards the town of Mollepata.
• We had breakfast in Mollepata then We head to Soraypampa to start a walk ascending towards the Humantay Lagoon (the luggage will be carried by the muleteers and horses that are in the place)
• We will explore the lagoon with the corresponding guide.
• We return descending towards the Quiswarniyoc private camp for lunch.
• It is optional to go up to the Salkantay viewpoint to enjoy the view.

Day 2: Quiswarniyoc – Salkantay – Cusco
• We prepare for a hard hike to go to the top of the Salkantay trail.
• We will wake up very early for breakfast and pack up.
• We begin the walk towards Salkantay, uphill, to enjoy the mountains and the ritual of the Apus.
• We walk back to Soraypampa, locate the transportation and return to Mollepata for lunch.
• Our tour ends with the return to the city of Cusco.
