Cusco to Rainbow Mountain Full Day – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

The Cusco to Rainbow Mountain tour starts with an early morning hotel pickup at 4:00 AM and a drive to Cusipata for a traditional Andean breakfast. Following breakfast, there’s a further one-hour drive to the trailhead, with a stop to pay entrance fees. Participants receive a safety briefing before embarking on a 1.5-hour hike to the summit of Rainbow Mountain. An option to rent a horse is available for those who prefer not to hike. The trek offers insights into local Andean communities and their traditions, as well as opportunities to see wildlife and Ausangate mountain. At the summit, there’s time to appreciate the colorful landscape and learn about its cultural significance. An optional hike to the red valley is available if time allows. The day concludes with a hike back, lunch, and a return drive to Cusco, arriving between 5:00 and 6:00 PM.
