EXPERIENCE:

The South Valley tour is a half-day tour in Cusco, a cultural tour that will leave you amazed. You will begin the visit to the water temple, the archaeological site of Tipón, famous for its agricultural platforms and water sources for religious purposes. This tour also allows you to visit the archaeological site of Pikillaqta, a place belonging to the pre-Inca culture. – Wari, as the last point of this tour we will visit the temple of Andahuaylillas, known as the Sistine Chapel of South America, for its ornamentation, composed of canvases and paintings from the colonial era.

Itinerary:
Pick up will be at approximately 08:30 hrs. from your hotel or accommodation to begin the tour of the southern valley, you will go by bus to the archaeological attraction of Tipón.
Upon arriving at the Tipón archaeological park, you will be able to appreciate the scenic beauty of agricultural platforms of considerable size that were part of an Inca temple dedicated to the cult of water. As well as water sources for religious purposes that were very important for the Inca era and an example of the high hydraulic engineering that was managed in the Inca era, consisting of canals and aqueducts that supplied this vital liquid to the agricultural platforms and more sectors.
After the tour you will head towards the archaeological park of Pikillaqta, a regional city belonging to the pre-Inca Wari culture, which had its peak before the development of the Inca culture, characterized by a wall as a form of protection of the city and construction different from the inca. Composed of urban, religious and leisure sectors that were occupied after the arrival of the Inca culture.
Immediately afterwards you will head towards the town of Andahuaylillas, to visit the Catholic temple of the same name, considered by many to be the Sistine Chapel of South America due to the ornamentation it has, which covers canvases and fresco paintings made in the colonial era, a sample of Andean syncretism. which is still seen in these towns today. At the end of the tour you will return to the city of Cusco and on the way back you will be able to make a stop in the town of Oropesa to buy the famous “chuta” breads typical of the Cusco region. To then arrive at the city and rest after this pleasant experience.
