Cusco: Rainbow Mountain Tour – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

On the rainbow mountain tour you can enjoy a unique experience. This attraction is after Machu Picchu, the second most visited place in the city of Cusco. Upon reaching the starting point of the walk, we will be surprised by an incredible panoramic view of the snow-capped Ausangate, the highest mountain in Cusco. You will walk for 1 hour and 30 minutes to the top. You will reach a height of 5,000 meters above sea level, from this height you will be able to appreciate all the scenic beauty that this place offers. Optionally, it is possible to rent a horse at any time along the way if the walk begins to be difficult.

Pick up is from your hotel in Cusco at 04:00 AM, then you will head towards the southern valley of Cusco. The trip is around 2 hours until you reach the town of Cusipata, where you will enjoy a refreshing breakfast, after breakfast you will continue for 1.5 more hours to the starting point of the walk (Winincunca), you will immediately be surprised by the scenic beauty, the flora and fauna of the place with herds of alpacas and llamas and you will have incredible views of the Ausangate mountain.
After a 1.5 to 2 hour walk, you will arrive at your destination: Vinincunca “the Mountain of Seven Colors” (5,020 m / 16,466 feet). Already at the top you will be able to appreciate the beauty and magic of the rainbow mountain and its surroundings, as well as the Ausangate snow-capped mountain, one of the most revered snow-capped mountains in the region. Here you will have time to explore the area and take photographs.
Later, you will return to the downhill walk from the mountain to the starting point of the hike, then continue the route by car until you reach the town of Cusipata, where you will recharge your batteries with a delicious lunch. Finally you will return by transport to the city of Cusco. Approximate arrival time 05:00 PM.
