Cusco: Rainbow Mountain Full Day Tour – Cusco, Peru

Early, at approximately 4:00 AM, you will be picked up from your hotel in Cusco to embark on our beautiful journey to the Qollasuyo region, located to the south of the ancient Inca capital (Cusco), which was an important part of the Tawantinsuyo (the Inca Empire’s four ancient regions). The journey will take about 3 hours. Our first stop will be in the picturesque village of Pitumarka, where we’ll have a short break to buy water or energizing drinks, snacks, cereals, and more.

After the break, we’ll reach Pampachiri, a perfect spot to enjoy our breakfast. Following a brief briefing, we’ll commence our hike towards the Rainbow Mountain. We’ll start our trek at the base of the Ausangate snow-capped mountain, with an ascent of approximately 3 hours. During this journey, we’ll have the opportunity to see various South American camelid species, and the stunning landscape reflections are truly impressive.

Upon reaching the Rainbow Mountain, we’ll have ample time to take photographs of this enigmatic and astonishing place. Subsequently, we’ll return with a 3-hour downhill hike, with some flat stretches, until we reach Pampachiri, where we’ll take our transportation to head to Pitumarca and savor our delicious lunch. On the way back, we’ll make a stop to visit the beautiful colonial bridge of Checacupe. Finally, we’ll be in the imperial city by around 6:00 PM, and we’ll drop you off as close as possible to your hotel.
