Cusco: Private City Tour with Coricancha and 4 ruins. – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

For this private tour in the city of Cusco we will pick you up at 8:30 am from your hotel, then we will visit the famous Koricancha ancient Inca temple, built with very fine architecture. We will also see temples dedicated to the sun, the moon, the rainbow, to the stars, lightning and water.
After visiting this place we will go outside the city of Cusco and visit the 4 ruins, the famous Sacsayhuaman is the largest archaeological site on this tour, with one of the largest megalithic works from the time of the Incas, it was built in the Pachacute period with approximately 20 thousand men and its construction lasted 60 years, in its megalithic architecture the largest stone stands 9 meters high and weighs 120 tons, this place was built for the god (Illapa) Lightning, its construction is impressive because it has the shape of a lightning bolt, also in this place we have one of the viewpoints of the city of Cusco.
After visiting this place we will visit Quenco, a temple dedicated to Mother Earth, it is a cave where the Incas carved a ceremonial table with the purpose of performing llama sacrifices and carrying out the mummification process for their ancestors.
The next place to visit is the archaeological zone of Pucapucara, which means red fortress, this place was a very important place for travelers in the Inca era, here people could rest, find water or food during their trips but it was also a place of information relay for the (chaquis) messengers in the Inca era and control.
The last place to visit will be Tambomachay was a water-based ceremonial center, a place of purification. This place was built with very fine architecture and you can see large niches where they placed their mummified ancestors during their ceremonies. It also has a (usno) ceremonial platform that the Inca priests used to to take away the ceremony ended. After visiting these places we will return to the city of Cusco.
