EXPERIENCE

Cusco, Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley of the Incas
Day 1: Cusco
We will pick you up at the Cusco airport terminal and then take you to the hotel in the city where you can leave your belongings and rest and relax in the comfort of your own room. We will meet again later to begin our guided tour of the cathedral, the most important sanctuary in Cusco, and the Coricancha (Golden Courtyard), the most important temple of the Inca Empire. This is the perfect introduction to the unique fusion of Hispanic and pre-Columbian influences that characterize the culture of Peru.

We will then head to the historic center of the city to visit the archaeological sites of Sacsaywaman, Kenko, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay. In this extremely enriching experience, we will enter all the sites to learn more about the Inca civilization. At the end of the tour, we will return to the hotel where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Sacred Valley
We will start the day very early and, after a hearty breakfast, we will leave behind the historic capital of Peru and enter the Sacred Valley of the Incas, located in the heart of the Andes mountain range. Here we will discover why this ancient civilization focused on this place. To find out, we will visit the archaeological complex of Pisac, which stands out for its spectacular terraces and its traditional market.

In the afternoon we will head to the ruins of Ollantaytambo next to the Urubamba River, among which is the famous Temple of the Sun and the fountain of the “Princess’ Bath”. From there we will take a train to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival, we will take you to the hotel where you will stay.

Day 3: Machu Picchu
Machu Picchu is the highlight of everyone’s trip to Peru and one of the main reasons to visit the country. Therefore, on this tour, we will take you to the famous Inca site that has been designated a world heritage site by UNESCO. To make sure you get the most out of your visit, we will depart from the hotel at 6am. When we arrive, we will take a tour of the ancient citadel, which dates back to the 15th century and was built at over 7000 feet above sea level. This location will simply take your breath away.

We will then return to Aguas Calientes and board the train that will take us back to Ollantaytambo. From there we will take you back to Cusco where you will spend the night.

Day 4: Maras and Moray
After breakfast, we will head again to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, but this time we will visit the archaeological site of Moray, where you will be able to observe the amazing Inca terraces that, at first glance, resemble a Roman amphitheater. We will also take you to the traditional village of Maras, where you will find the famous salt flats.
Our fantastic 4-day tour through some of the most beautiful corners of the ancient Inca empire ends back in Cusco where we will take you to the airport so you can take your return flight.
