Cusco: Full-Day Horseback Riding Tour to Maras & Moray – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

Enjoy a full-day tour on horseback around the stunning landscapes of the famous Sacred Valley. Ride amongst snow-capped mountains and historic farmlands as you make stops with your guide to visit the archaeological site of Moray, the town of Maras, and the spectatcular Maras salt pans. 

Get picked up from your hotel in the morning and en route to the ranch receive an activity briefring from your guide.

At the ranch, receive a brief introduction to how to control and steer your horse. You will be given a horse based on your experience and activity level. 

Ride towards the archaeological site of Moray with incredible views of the stunning scenery composed by snowy mountains and serene farmland. At Moray your guide will explain the importance of this archaeological site, where the Incas adapted the farming of plants and foods to different altitude levels. 

Jump back on your horse and continue to the town of Maras. Make a small tour of this picturesque village where you will see a church that is over 400 years old. Stop for your included buffet lunch, which includes vegetarian options, at Tunupas Restaurant. 

Leave the horses and travel in a vehicle to visit the famous Maras salt mines. The salt mines have been worked by the locals even from pre-Incan times which involves making small wells to hold water that contains salt particles that settle at the base to be extracted.

Arrive back in Cusco around 4:30 PM.
