Cusco: 7-Day Machu Picchu, Humantay & Rainbow Mountain Tour – Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

Discover the wonders of Peru on a 7-day trip to some of its top sights. Start by touring the city of Cusco before heading off to the Sacred Valley. Explore Machu Picchu, admire the sparkling waters of Humantay Lake, visit the salt mines of Maras and Moray, and take photos of Rainbow Mountain.

Day 1: Airport Pickup and City Tour

Begin your trip with an airport pickup and transfer to the hotel. Have the morning free to rest and acclimatize. Join a city tour in the mid-afternoon, exploring Qoricancha, Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay.

Return to Cusco at around dinner time.

Day 2: Sacred Valley

Start the tour of the Sacred Valley in the morning. Visit Pisac and go to Urubamba for a buffet lunch. After lunch, head to Ollantaytambo to board the train to Machu Picchu.

Day 3: Machu Picchu

Start early to take the bus to Machu Picchu, where your guide awaits your arrival. Tour the citadel of Machu Picchu for 2.5 hours, followed by a lunch in Aguas Calientes. Later, take the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco.

Day 4: Humantay Lake

Begin the day before sunrise and travel to the town of Mollepata for a breakfast stop. Continue your journey to Soraypampa and hike to the Humantay Lagoon. Admire the fauna and flora of the place.

Descend to Soraypampa to head back to Mollepata for lunch. Afterward, return to Cusco.

Day 5: Maras and Moray

After a hotel pickup in the morning, drive through Maras, to the agricultural marvels of Moray for a 40-minute guided tour. Continue to the salt mines or “salineras” for a 1-hour guided tour. Return to Cusco in the late afternoon.

Day 6: Rainbow Mountain

Leave the hotel before sunrise and travel to the village of Tintico for a buffet breakfast. Continue your journey with a hike, appreciating a variety of flora and fauna on the way. At the top of Rainbow Mountain, be rewarded with views of the snow-capped Ausangate Mountain.

After soaking in the tranquility of the mountain, begin the descent. Return to the restaurant for a buffet lunch, and make the return trip to Cusco.

Day 7: Transfer to Airport

Depending on your plans and flight time, get dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
