Cusco: 4-Day Inca Trail to Machu Picchu shared Group Trek - Cusco, Peru

EXPERIENCE:

DAY1: DAY 1: CUSCO- PISKACUCHO KM 82- PATALLAQTA- CUSICHAKA- WAYLLABAMBA. (CAMPING):
We’ll pick you up from your hotel at 5:00 am and start our 3-hour journey from Cusco to Km 82 (Piscacucho),
At Km 82, we’ll pass the Inca Trail official control, cross a suspension footbridge over the Urubamba River, and begin our hike. We’ll visit the Inca town of Llactapata, take in panoramic views, and have lunch at Tayaroc. Afterward, we’ll walk for 3-4 more hours to reach the small town of Wayllabamba. Have a good night and sleep well!

Day 2: Day 2: WAYLLABAMBA- AYAPATA- LLULLUCHAYOQ- DEAD WOMAN´S PASS- PACAYMAYO- (CAMPING):
fter an 8:00 am breakfast, we’ll start our hike towards Ayapata Valley. The hike includes a gradual climb through forests and along a stream, reaching an altitude of 3,300 m (10,824 ft). Today’s challenge is reaching a 4,200 m (13,776 ft) summit, involving a 1,200 m elevation gain in two stages. The climb offers stunning views and includes an ancient Inca stone staircase.
After a 2-3 hour walk with picturesque stops, we’ll have lunch in Llulluchapampa Valley. The hike continues through diverse landscapes, including a cloud forest, treeless prairies with wildlife, and views of the Warmiwañusca Pass.
The final stretch is an ascent of 600 meters to Warmiwañusca Mt. After reaching the summit, we’ll descend into Pacaymayo Valley for 2-3 hours and set up camp with great views, a waterfall, and snow-covered peaks. You can hike at your own pace and enjoy tea and dinner at the campsite.

DAY 3: PACAYMAYO -RUNKURAKAY- SAYAQMARKA- CHAKICOCHA- AOBAMBA- PHUYUPATAMARKA- INTIPATA- WIÑAYWAYNA (CAMPING):
On Day 3 of the Inca Trail trek, you’ll start from Pacaymayo camp after breakfast. The trail ascends steeply to the ruins of Runcuracay, an Inca Tambo with a circular structure and guard post. After reaching the second pass at 3,950 meters, you’ll descend through switchbacks, passing by stunning views, a lake, and the Inca town of Sayacmarca. You’ll continue to Chakicocha for lunch and then visit the impressive ruins of Phuyupatamarca. Descending around 3,000 cobbled stairs, you’ll reach the camp at Wiñaywayna around 5 pm. In the evening, you’ll explore the site before preparing for the final trek to Machu Picchu. Take care of your belongings, and enjoy tea and dinner as a farewell to the porters.

DAY04: WIÑAYWAYNA- INTUPINKU – MACHUPICCHU (HUAYNAPICCHU) -CUSCO:
We’ll wake up at 3:20 am to visit Inti Punku, offering the first sunrise view of Machu Picchu. It’s a 1-2 hour walk, so bring a headlamp for the dark part. Afterward, we descend for about 50 minutes to the Machu Picchu entrance. The tour ends at noon, and you can explore more on your own. Optional activities include climbing Huaynapicchu with a special permit, visiting the Inca Bridge, and other trails. In the afternoon, we’ll take a bus to Aguas Calientes for lunch (not included) and then return to Cusco by train (arrival around 10:30 pm at Plaza Regocijo, ending the excursion).
