EXPERIENCE

Discover the exotic cuisine of Northern Thailand with Grandma’s Home Cooking School’s new Lanna Exotic Cooking Class. In this one-day course, guests will learn how to cook 6 traditional dishes including Northern Thai Sausage, Nam Prik Ong or Nam Prik Num, Grilled Egg in Banana Leaf, Northern Pork Belly Curry, Curry Young Jackfruit, and Thai coconut pancakes. The class starts with a visit to the local market where instructors will introduce various ingredients and seasonings, followed by a tour of the organic farm while explaining and picking up Thai herbs and vegetables for your dishes, and visiting chicken coop to collect eggs. During the class, participants will have a chance to learn to light a charcoal grill, wash vegetable, mill flour by using traditional millstone, grating coconut meat by using coconut grater, and making Thai coconut pancakes in traditional way. Participants will help each other to prepare the dishes with the guidance of English-speaking instructors. The course also includes lunch, round-trip transfers to and from your hotel, dessert and refreshment session with tasting, and a recipe book for the summary class. The activity is open to all dietary requirements and visitors aged 0-12 are welcome to join as observers.
