Uncover the secrets of the Sanxingdui Ruins, located at the enigmatic 30°N latitude alongside the Bermuda Triangle and Stonehenge. Covering 12 square kilometers and dating from 5,000 to 2,800 years ago, this site was once the capital of the ancient Shu Kingdom.

In spring 1929, farmer Yan Daocheng discovered over 400 jade and stone artifacts while digging near his home. This accidental find sparked global archaeological excitement. Ongoing excavations continue to reveal astonishing artifacts, pushing the Shu Kingdom’s history back by 2,000 years and challenging our understanding of early Chinese civilization.

In July 2023, the newly constructed Sanxingdui Museum’s new hall, with a building area of 54,400 square meters and an exhibition area of 22,000 square meters, became the largest standalone archaeological museum building in Southwest China. The new hall features over 1,500 artifacts, tripling the number of previously displayed items, with nearly 600 pieces making their public debut, including precious artifacts from newly discovered sacrificial pits such as the Bronze Altar and the Bird-foot Deity Statue.

The new hall employs advanced technologies like AI restoration, 3D printing, and 3D data reconstruction. Visitors can use naked-eye 3D media technology and multimedia sand tables to view the national treasures such as the Bronze Altar and the Bronze Beast-topped Figure, along with their digital virtual restoration results. Additionally, the new hall includes a conservation area where visitors can observe archaeologists restoring artifacts on-site, providing a direct experience of the allure of these ancient objects.
