Cagliari: Nuraghe of Barumini, Unesco site guided tour - Sardinia, Italy
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE:

In Barumini, a small village in the countryside in the Marmilla area, on the top of a hill lies the most famous Sardinian nuraghe: “Su Nuraxi”. Thanks to its exceptional state of conservation and the complexity of its structure, which has five towers (one in the middle and the others around it), city walls, and the ruins of an ancient village, it was awarded as an integral part of the Unesco World Heritage Site in 1997, the only one on the island. The nuraghes have become a symbol of the island culture and a source of pride for us Sardinians. After the tour to Su Nuraxi, we will take you to Casa Zapata Museum where the ruins of Su Nuraxi ‘e Crexia are enclosed; the nuraghe is located, in fact, in the heart of the town of Barumini and has been used as a foundation for the construction of a 15th-century Spanish noble house.
Don’t miss the chance to explore this amazing area of Sardinia and discover more about the ancient history of the island with a guided tour.
