EXPERIENCE

Cadiz has a mystic, almost magical draw because it is named the oldest city in Europe. Founded about 3 millennia ago, it is almost surrounded by water, hence the name the Phoenicians gave it: “Gadir” – Enclosure. This city has a whirlwind of history, culture, architecture and lifestyle big enough to take the breath away from the most experienced traveller. See the Plaza de San Antonio, where the Spanish Constitution of 1812 was proclaimed. Follow your fee to the 17th-century Church of San Antonio de Padua, dedicated to the Lisbon-born patron saint of lost things. Have a look at the 19th-century Mercado Central De Abastos De Cádiz, a large central market where locals go for their daily fresh produce and fish. Pay a visit to the Plaza de las Flores as well, known for being a large shopping venue in the city, and is home to one of the city’s oldest restaurants, Freiduria Las Flores. Follow us for a journey through this city’s historical quarter and its charming old-world flair, in a walk that will give you the essence of Spain in only two hours.
