Buenos Aires: Tango Show at Esquina Homero Manzi - Buenos Aires, Argentina
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE

Homero Manzi was a poet, political leader, journalist, author of tangos and milongas (including Sur), scriptwriter and film director. The Restaurant is named after him. It is located in the traditional corner of San Juan and Boedo. It was built in 1927. It is sponsored and declared of cultural interest by the Presidency of the Nation and the Secretariat of Tourism of the City of Buenos Aires, as well as being declared an area of historical protection.
As in the old kitchens of the neighbourhoods of the city of Buenos Aires, where the immigrants coming from different parts of Europe, mixed the culinary characteristics of each of these regions and thus created the so-called “porteña” cuisine.

Sponsored and declared of cultural interest by the Presidency of the Nation and the Secretary of Tourism of the City of Buenos Aires.

The decade of the 40’s was undoubtedly the golden age of tango; with a great number of orchestras, singers and composers, who gave the genre a richness of styles that lasts until today.
Our show aims to reflect that time; it revolves around the compositions of Homero Manzi, not forgetting tributes to Carlos Gardel and Astor Piazzolla. And it will transport the visitor back in time to the Buenos Aires of the outskirts.
The cast is made up of 15 artists on stage. Four dance couples, two singers and a live quintet will perform for 90 minutes.

We start with hotels or meeting point pick up. Upon arrival at the restaurant we will be offered an exquisite dinner (optional) consisting of a starter, a main course and dessert (alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks included) while we enjoy an authentic Tango show. At the end, return to the hotel or meeting point.
