Big Sky: Half Day Rafting Trip on the Gallatin River (II-IV) - Big Sky, Montana
  • Anywhere

EXPERIENCE

Meet at our office in the Gallatin Canyon (63960 Gallatin Road) where our office staff will check you in for your trip and our guides will get you outfitted with all the equipment needed. We provide wetsuits, booties, and splash tops all free of charge! Show up with a bathing suit to wear under the wetsuit, or synthetic layers that can dry quick if wetsuits are not required. You will use your car like your locker and leave all dry clothes and valuables in your car, and the office has a place for your car keys. We will shuttle you a short drive upstream where you will get our safety talk to outline the dos and don’t of rafting. Then hit the water!

You ll begin with small rapids that progress in size until you are in the lower canyon where you ll conquer rapids including House Rock and the Mad Mile- the longest stretch of whitewater in the region. The trip is about 3 hours, but varies depending on water levels.

The Mad Mile is class IV during high water- usually June & July. Restrictions may apply based on age and ability during these months. We will adjust your trip if needed. It will change to class III around August through the end of the season due to dropping water levels.

We will pick you up at the end of the trip, for a short 5-10 minute drive back to our office and dry clothes! Our professional photographers will get shots of you throughout the trip. Trip photos, apparel, snacks and souvenirs are available for purchase right at the office.
