In addition to our tiny group sizes, you will be led by an incredibly knowledgeable guide. Did you know baguettes are some of the worst bread in France and you should be ordering something else? Did you know there are seasons for cheese? Would you like to have someone walk you through the regions of French wine? Our guides can do this because they are food professionals – former chefs, food writers, and wine experts – not a student who has memorized a script.

We have selected only the highest quality shops to showcase some of the best France has to offer and on this tour you’ll be strolling through Old Bordeaux, with its magnificent medieval architecture and winding cobblestone streets. We’ll start at a bakery whose “boulanger” comes from a long line of bakers dating all the way back to Louis the 14th. You’ll try our favorite canelé, chosen after countless taste tests, and select charcuterie from one of the most innovative butchers in the city. Afterwards, we’ll chat with a cheesemonger as we gather cheeses for our blow out tasting. All tours include copious wine for an informal pairing. Come hungry as portion sizes are generous.
