EXPERIENCE:

Your driver will pick you up at your hotel in the morning for a full day of sightseeing and experiences. The region of Arles and the Alpilles, have been shaped by great civilizations, especially the Romans. History and art lovers will enjoy the historic city Arles with its Roman and medieval ruins.

Ancient and contemporary history combine in Arles and overlap as ancient buildings such as the Arena and amphitheatre serve the needs of current generations whilst contemporary architecture and design take cues from the Romans as well as from the works of its famous painters. The city is closely connected to the Post-Impressionist artist Vincent Van Gogh whose stay there was one of the most productive periods in his career, with over 300 paintings and drawings completed in 15 months. 150 years later, the artist’s works continue to inspire contemporary art and design.

To the north of the city stretches the Alpilles Regional Nature Park. Located in the heart of the Alpilles park, the beautiful village of Maussane les Alpilles with its lively bars and cafes situated in the main square is not to be missed.

Later on, explore the pretty tree-lined central square and the surrounding streets of Saint-Rémy de Provence. The town is very attractive and everything a Provencal town should be with narrow streets, fountains and boulevards often shaded by centuries-old plane trees. The town is full of independent shops and boutiques where you will find regional, local and artisanal products which, along with the many art galleries, bars and restaurants will make your stay a pleasant one.

At the end of this well rounded day, your driver-guide will drive you back to your hotel.
