Arequipa: Sillar Route and Petroglyphs of Culebrillas:

This great route is located northeast of the city of Arequipa and begins in the quarries of Añashuayco in the district of Cerro Colorado, currently has a length of 2 thousand meters, touring the quarries of Añashuayco, Cutters and the Virgen de Culebrillas quarry.
This route is considered a very important route where the artisans show us the techniques of extraction of the ashlar. Also, this work was declared as Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Nation, being a very important place for the local architecture.

Itinerary:
– We start the tour picking you up at your hotel in Arequipa.
– We will head towards Uchumayo and arrive at the ashlar stone quarries for a guided tour.
– Then we will learn about the ancient work of the artisans and the origin of the material.
– We will walk until we reach the Culebrillas Canyon, formed by the passage of water.
– We will also be able to take several pictures and see the petroglyphs.
– At the end of the tour, we will return to the center of Arequipa.
