Amsterdam: Low-Holland Windmill Village and Cheese Farm Tour – Amsterdam, Netherlands

EXPERIENCE

Discover the Dutch countryside on a guided tour from Amsterdam. Drive through the Dutch ‘polders’, reclaimed land, with all their beautiful world heritage sites and villages, over rural roads with spectacular views of the typical Dutch landscape.

If open, visit the water pumping Museum Mill at Schermerhorn (April-October, not on Mondays). Instead of the museum mill, drive to Volendam for a short walk, and, if you like and the weather is nice, take the ferry to Marken, where you will be picked up at the dock.

Drive to Edam for a short walk. This former center of the cheese industry is still very well-preserved. Visit a nearby cheese farm where you will learn all about cheese making.

Drive to the windmill village of the Zaanse Schans for lunch and visit a couple of working windmills and the wooden shoe museum. Then, drive back to Amsterdam.
