Sail on our beautiful cruise through the Green Heart, characterized by shallow lakes and islands. The islands are polders and are still drained by 18 restored working polder mills. Visit the old fishing village Katwijk on the board of the North Sea and a behind the scenes tour to a Dutch cow farm with their price winning cheese.

In Roman times, Katwijk was a place of strategic importance. It was located at the Roman Empire’s northern border (called Limes), at the mouth of the Rhine river. Today, Katwijk is still a fishing place with the most beautiful boulevard of the Netherlands. A great place to discover.

A visit to the Katwijk Museum is included in your tour. The famous museum is located in the center of the old fishing village and is housed in a spacious and recently expanded complex. A former, monumental shipowner’s house is the eye-catcher here. The museum combines a special collection of paintings by foreign and Dutch painters who were attracted by the artists’ colony of Katwijk (in 19th century the biggest one in Katwijk), with a fine collection of local and regional sights.

Our tour will end at cow farm Nellesteijn, an authentic cow farm with more than 100 cows. The farmer will guide you through the farm and will demonstrate the cheese-making process. The cheese made by the farmer family of Nellesteijn has been voted as the best cheese in Holland in 2021. Try it yourself.
