EXPERIENCE

Alaska, known as the Last Frontier, is a vast and wild territory that offers some of the most spectacular and adventurous routes in the world. With its dazzling natural beauty, rich history and unique culture, Alaska invites travelers to explore its breathtaking landscapes, from towering mountains and glaciers to dramatic coastlines and vast tundras.

One of the most iconic routes is the Alaska Highway, also known as the Alaska Highway or Alcan. Built during World War II, this 2,232-kilometer highway connects Dawson Creek in British Columbia, Canada, with Delta Junction in Alaska. The route traverses spectacular scenery, including majestic mountains, crystal-clear lakes and boreal forests, offering an epic travel experience. Along the way, travelers can stop at Kluane National Park in the Yukon Territory, home to some of the highest peaks in North America and the impressive Kaskawulsh Glacier.

Another must-do route leads to Denali National Park, home to North America’s highest peak, Denali, at 6,190 meters. This impressive park of more than 24,000 square kilometers is the heart of Alaska’s wilderness. The Denali National Park Road, a 92-mile road within the park, offers the opportunity to see iconic Alaskan wildlife such as grizzly bears, moose and caribou. Wonder Lake is a highlight on the route, a serene lake that reflects Denali’s imposing silhouette, especially on clear days. Another point of interest is Horseshoe Lake, a short trail that leads to a beautiful horseshoe-shaped lake, surrounded by forests and abundant wildlife.

The Glacier Coastal Trail, which runs through Glacier Bay, is another Alaskan natural gem. Glacier Bay is a national park and preserve encompassing 13,000 square kilometers of mountains, glaciers, forests and ocean in Southeast Alaska. This sea route takes travelers through a landscape of moving glaciers and diverse marine wildlife. One of the most active glaciers in Glacier Bay is the Margerie Glacier, famous for its ice calving thunderously into the sea.

Finally, the Dalton Highway is one of Alaska’s most remote and challenging routes. It stretches 667 kilometers from Fairbanks to Prudhoe Bay on the Arctic Ocean. Built as a service road for the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, it is known for its barren landscapes and access to the Arctic Circle. One of the most symbolic landmarks on this route is the crossing of the Arctic Circle, a unique experience for travelers. Atigun Pass, the highest point on the Dalton Highway, offers breathtaking views of the Brooks Mountains and the vast Arctic landscape. The journey culminates at Prudhoe Bay, where travelers can view the vast, frozen Arctic Ocean and the oil drilling operations that are crucial to Alaska’s economy.
