1 Week Luxury Iceland Aurora Borealis Photography Workshop – Aurora, Illinois

This is a singular event for a specific time frame.

Explore Iceland on this one week expedition curated by internationally award winning travel and nature photographer Paul McDermott.

Everything has been stacked in our favor to maximize opportunities to see and photograph the Aurora Borealis. This week is during the new moon and we will be in remote areas with as little light pollution as possible giving us the best odd of experiencing the awe inspiring Northern Lights. This year marks the Solar Maximus, the most active season in the 11 year Aurora cycle, further increasing our odds.

During daylight hours we will: Hike on Glaciers, Admire the vastness of Glaciers from Unique Viewpoints, Explore Ice Caves, Witness a remote Shipwreck on a Black Sand Beach, Discover Secret Waterfalls, Discover FAMOUS Waterfalls, Observe Geysers, Soak in Naturally Heated Springs, See Unique Rock Formations and Landscapes shaped by Volcanoes, Watch Icebergs Drift in Lagoons and see Glacial Ice Decorating Black Sand Beaches like a Sea of Diamonds. We will experience the must sees and spend most of our time exploring a perspective of Iceland very few know of. Itinerary subject to change / weather permitting.

By night we will stay in Luxury accommodations including Ranga, recognized by National Geographic as one of the best hotels in the world for Aurora viewing, and Fosshotel by Glacier Lagoon. These hotels provide Aurora alarms to ensure we don’t miss anything and, on ideal nights, our private guide will take us to alternative viewpoints for increased viewing and/or better photography opportunities.
