Instructor bio:
Hello! My name is Trudy Powell or Yellow Brick Knits on Instagram/Facebook. I chose this name because I live in St. Cloud in one of the beautiful, historic yellow brick houses. I am an adventurous knitter who loves to travel and see what the world has to offer, especially in the world of knitting. In 2019, I traveled to the Loche Ness Knit Fest in Inverness Scottland where I took knitting classes with Elizabeth Williamson on Shetland lace and colorwork with the world’s fastest knitter Hazel Tindal. Then in 2021, I traveled to Iceland on a hiking and knitting tour of Iceland with Helene Magnusson. Both these trips were amazing gifts and gave me so much confidence in my knitting. I say that I am an adventurous knitter because I knit everything from lace to colorwork, sweaters to shawls. I like the patterns to challenge me or for me to learn something new each time I knit. I am now teaching through community education and 4-H.
