This week’s Beer & Science theme is Alternative Sugars — exploring sugar sources beyond barley and how they influence flavor, body, fermentation, and the overall finished beer. We’ll include a side-by-side tasting of Friar Duck and Benchmarked to highlight these differences.
Grab a flight of beer, and we’ll walk you through the techniques of brewing each one and taste what makes them unique. We’ll have a loose format, which will allow for plenty of audience participation and questions. After that, we’ll conclude with a tour of the brewery so you can see firsthand the equipment that is used for brewing.
Note: It’s free to register, but to participate in the tasting, you will have to purchase a flight of beer for $20 once you arrive. This event is open to those 21 years old or older. You may be asked to provide a valid government-issued ID.
