Legends for Charity: A Legacy of Hope and Celebration During Super Bowl Weekend

Established in 2005 by Cheryl DeLeonardis, President of Ocean 2 Ocean Productions, Legends for Charity® supports St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, a renowned national charity dedicated to curing childhood diseases. This iconic fundraising event has become a cornerstone of Super Bowl Week, uniting sports, entertainment, and philanthropy. Taking place on Thursday during Super Bowl LIX Weekend, this year’s event will be held at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans. Over the past two decades, Legends for Charity has raised more than $10 million, directly benefiting the lifesaving mission of St. Jude—finding cures and saving children.

The 2025 honoree of the prestigious Pat Summerall Award is acclaimed ESPN anchor, producer, and director Hannah Storm, recognized for her dedication to raising awareness and funding treatments for children with debilitating vascular birthmarks. She joins an illustrious list of past honorees, including sports broadcasting icons such as James Brown, Greg Gumbel, Jim Nantz, Chris Berman, Cris Collinsworth, Al Michaels, Archie Manning, Michael Strahan, Joe Buck, and many more.

Hosted during the vibrant atmosphere of Super Bowl 2025 Events, this elegant dinner brings together NFL players, broadcasters, and supporters from around the world. It’s not just a celebration; it’s a moment to make a difference. With the Super Bowl LIX Logo adorning the venue and the energy of New Orleans Super Bowl Parties 2025 all around, the Legends for Charity event embodies the spirit of the weekend.

About the Pat Summerall Award

The Pat Summerall Award was created to honor a national broadcaster or sports figure who exemplifies excellence in their career and community impact. It was first presented in 2005 during Super Bowl XXXIX in Jacksonville, FL, with Pat Summerall himself as the inaugural honoree. The overwhelming turnout included NFL broadcasting legends like Troy Aikman, Cris Collinsworth, and Lesley Visser, paying tribute to a man who shaped the sports broadcasting industry.

Starting with Super Bowl XL in Detroit in 2006, Summerall personally selected honorees until his passing in 2013. The award has since become a cherished tradition during Super Bowl Weekend, celebrating those who continue to inspire and give back. Notably, broadcaster Rich Eisen, after years of hosting the dinner, turned his Run Rich Run event into a fundraiser for St. Jude, ensuring its mission reached even further.

A Part of the Super Bowl Week Festivities
