Metalachi was born over a decade ago as the result of a night of tequila-fueled mariachi debauchery and wild abuelitas screaming for the popular metal and mariachisongs of their youth; the resulting love child has had the power to remove bras and bring smiles to many people in the subsequent years, with performances rangingfrom iconic venues such as The Viper Room and Whiskey A Go-Go to Heavy Montreal Festival, Monsters of Rock Cruise, Netflix is a Joke with Burt Kreischer, and even a nationally airing AT&T commercial. They combine the humor of Steel Panther, theflamboyant of GWAR, and the eclectic rawness of Rob Zombie. Theres also a little dose of Spinal Tap and a hit of Cheech & Chong. The music is classic metal covers from artists like Metallica fused with classic mariachi by Vicente Fernandez and Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlan. Their setlist is punctuated by comedic interludes and skits.
