Headlining the Friends of the Music and the Arts season will be an appearance by Billy Collins, past Poet Laureate of the United States and recipient of numerous awards and honors. Called the most popular poet in America by the New York Times, his numerous collections of poetry have become bestsellers. Mr. Collins who has never appeared in Knoxville before will read from his work, including from a collection to be published in November entitled Water, Water (which will be available that evening for purchase).
