Join Queer Mountaineers for a snowshoe meet-up at June Lake near Mount St. Helens.

Join us for a Saturday snowshoe at June Lake near Mount St. Helens. This beginner-friendly hike is 4.8 miles with 500 ft elevation gain. It features a serene lake and beautiful waterfall. We’ll meet at Marble Mountain Sno-Park at 10:30am and begin promptly at 10:45am after we have done a quick round of intros plus a gear check.

We will be hiking rain, snow, or shine so please pack for the weather accordingly. The event will only be cancelled if the weather is severe or road/trail conditions seem unsafe. As a reminder, pets and other animals should be left at home unless they are a service animals.

Travel Information:

You’ll need a Washington Sno-Park Permit to park at the Marble Mountain Sno-Park. Prepare for winter driving conditions and bring chains for your vehicle. We encourage you to research road conditions ahead of time and carpool with someone who has a 4WD/AWD vehicle.

Gear Needed:

-snowshoes and trekking poles with snow baskets

-day pack with10 essentials

-water

-trail snacks & lunch

-base layers, puffy, hardshell/rain jacket, beanie

-sturdy waterproof hiking boots

-Recommended: Gaiters & sit pad
