Join us for a fun and educational plant hike to discover the benefits, uses, and botany of wild foods and medicines!

Join Collin Gow, C.N.C. for a fun and educational winter plant identification walk in and around a Lake Magdalene neighborhood. Monday, January 20, 2025 at 4 PM EDT. Kids, adults, parents, chefs, naturalists…all are welcome! Children must be accompanied by at least 1 adult. Ages 5 and under are free. Must buy a ticket for age 6 and up. Address will be emailed to registered participants prior to the event.

On this hike, Collin will teach you how to identify many natural treasures, while also discussing their biological actions, nutritional benefits, and Native American and ethnomedicinal uses. You will have a whole new botanical and wellness vocabulary by the end of it! Get ready to explore, eat, and learn about wild plants growing in the area. We might see a lichen or mushroom to identify also. No herbicides or pesticides are sprayed on the main property we will be on.

Collin is an author of 6 books, he is an experienced forager, and he holds certifications in nutrition, botany, wilderness first aid, herbalism, and dietary supplements.

This class will take place rain or shine, so come prepared, and we will walk a distance of about 1/2 a mile. It is best to try to arrive 15 minutes early to the class, if possible. Anywhere from 10 to 30 people generally attend the walks.
