Internationally acclaimed undie-rock stars, The Skivvies, return to the Purple Room with ICONIQUE! Serving their outrageous comedy-pop, genre-hopping mashups, the show will also feature surprise special guests. Broadways Lauren Molina and Nick Cearley not only strip down musical arrangements to cello, ukulele, glockenspiel, melodica, and drums they also strip down to their undergarments as they sing and play. Expect big voices and big laughs. The Skivvies have been featured in People Magazine and as Sports Illustrateds Favorite New Band. The New York Times calls them a hot musical comedy duo specializing in unexpected arrangements, incongruous mashups, and of course, highly toned displays of skin. Holding residencies in New York Citys premier venues like Joes Pub and 54 Below, The Skivvies have been touring the country for the last 13 years. Molina (Broadways Rock of Ages, Sweeney Todd, Mary Zimmermans Candide – Helen Hayes Award, Marry Me A Little) and Cearley (Broadway First National All Shook Up, Buyer s national tour of the Just So Stories. Quickly becoming best friends and musical collaborators, they began performing together in the city, with clothes on. The Skivvies were born in 2012, when they became YouTube sensations with their unique covers of artists like Robyn, Carole King and Rihanna.
