Step into the hauntingly beautiful world of “Haunt Couture,” where the ethereal meets the vibrant in an enchanting flute recital. Join Dale Jezwinski (Flute/Piccolo/Alto Flute) and Ryan Gochee (Piano) for an evening of spellbinding narratives through music. From introspection and longing to resilience and joy, each piece invites listeners on a journey through spectral echoes and dazzling melodies.

Repertoire

1. Regrets and Resolutions – Gary Schocker
A poignant duet reflecting on life’s “what ifs” and “what nexts.” Commissioned for Mortimer Levitt’s 80th birthday, this two-movement piece explores the bittersweet nature of memory and the invigorating hope of the future.

2. Hall of Ghosts for Solo Piccolo – Amanda Harberg
Written during the isolation of 2020, this evocative work conjures an empty concert hall filled with echoes of its past. The solo piccolo traverses a dynamic spectrum between restless spirits and a triumphant return to music.

3. Hasta La Raíz for Solo Alto Flute – Alyssa Mercedes Mena
Dive deep into Cuban-inspired rhythms and reflective melodies in this six-movement exploration of identity and heritage, composed during the pandemic’s solitude.

4. Concerto for Flute – Carl Nielsen
A monumental concerto blending lyrical beauty and virtuosic brilliance. Written in 1926 for the Copenhagen Wind Quintet’s flutist, this work showcases Nielsen’s playful and inventive depiction of musical personalities.
