Join us for one of our most popular field trips of the year–winter birding at Pointe Mouillee! While it can be chilly, the birding couldn’t be better. We may spot Snowy Owls, Northern Harriers, Canvasback Ducks, Short-eared Owls, and more. Driving out onto the dikes is limited to five vehicles–we will use our leader’s vehicle and use four other participant vehicles, so space is limited.

Weather: Driving onto the dikes is contingent upon weather and the conditions of the roads on the dikes. If for some reason we are unable to drive on the dikes (as dictated by the area managers) we will let you know ASAP and contingency plans will be made.

Meeting Location: We will meet in the Sigler Road parking lot for Pointe Mouillee State Game Area. For navigational purposes, use 8456 Sigler Road, South Rockwood, MI 48179. The Sigler Road Parking Lot is on Sigler Road, just east of the intersection at US Turnpike Road (also called West Jefferson). The Sigler Road parking lot is the farthest north access point for Pointe Mouillee. There are parking lots farther south–we will not be there!
