RESONANCE OF LIFE: Her Voice

Kallos’s second program beautifully intertwines the heartfelt narratives and expressive depth found in compositions by and about women.​

The program includes Robert Schumann’s Frauen-liebe und Leben,
Sarah Gibson’s Carry (East Coast Premiere), Lili Boulanger’s songs from Clairières dans le ciel, Juhi Bansal’s Love, Loss, and Exile for soprano, cello, and piano (2022), and
Hugo Wolf’s songs from Italienisches liederbuch

Join us for an evening of music that honors the diverse and powerful voices of women, resonating through heartfelt melodies and profound emotions

PROGRAM

Robert Schumann (1810-1856) ​Frauen-liebe und Leben, Op. 42

Sarah Gibson (1986-2024) ‘Carry’ (East Coast Premiere) for solo cello

Lili Boulanger (1893-1918) Selected songs from Clairières dans le ciel

Juhi Bansal (b.1984) Love, Loss, and Exile for soprano, cello, and piano (2022)

Hugo Wolf (1860-1903) Selected songs from Italienisches liederbuch

This event offers general admission seating in the New Haven Lawn Club Ballroom. Doors open for a pre-concert reception at 7:00 PM and general admission ticket holders are welcome to claim an unreserved seat in the ballroom at this time. In addition to the pre-concert reception, refreshments will also be available during intermission. All refreshments and off-street parking in the New Haven Lawn Club lot are complimentary.
