Kendall Jane Meade at Sid Gold’s

Kendall Jane Meade is a solo artist and founder of the band Mascott. Jon Pareles of The New York Times once wrote “If Aimee Mann had fended off cynicism, she might sound like Kendall Meade…turn(ing) folk-rock into stately pop, wrapping vulnerability and longing in quietly radiant arrangements” and Spin Magazine claims Meade hails straight “from the Carly Simon School of Confessional Songwriting.“ Meade’s influences include 60s & 70s folk and pop songwriters like Joni Mitchell, Joan Baez, Francoise Hardy, Margot Guryan, Carole King, Christine McVie, and indie pop icons like Camera Obscura and The Softies.

An accomplished singer and musician who has contributed to albums or played/sang live with Sparklehorse, Helium, The Spinanes, Lloyd Cole, Gramercy Arms, Anders Parker, Stars, and more, Meade’s original songs have been featured on shows like Grey’s Anatomy and Chuck. Her most recent collaborations include songs with Kris Gruen, Leroy From The North, and an EP of John Prine covers with Jon Derosa of Aarktica. She has recently completed her new solo album, SPACE, produced by Charles Newman (Magnetic Fields, Bones of J.R. Jones, Soko) which will be released in late February. This show will debut her new material and showcase songs from her back catalog and recent releases.
She is thrilled to be joined onstage by David Nagler, Margaret White, Martin Olson & other friends.

Scott Klass, aka The Davenports, has earned consistent critical acclaim for catchy yet nuanced songcraft and smart, narrative lyricism. He has drawn comparisons to Weezer, Ben Folds, Elliott Smith, and Fountains of Wayne (Klass also plays alongside FOW frontman Chris Collingwood in Look Park).

Well-known for “Five Steps,” the theme song to A&E’s long-running, Emmy-nominated series Intervention, Klass has remained the sole constant at the heart of the rotating Davenports collective. Collaborators have included Danny Weinkauf/Dan Miller (They Might Be Giants), Claudia Chopek (Father John Misty, Bright Eyes), Philip Price (Winterpills), Collingwood, and many more.

Of the latest single, Ink19 said “It might be the tight handclap, or the full-out guitar strum that grabs right from the get-go, or maybe that little downturn toward the minor chord beginning the chorus that gets me. Of course, it is all of these things that make ‘The Annabellas Of The World’ my chosen earworm.” The song features on The Davenports’ fifth album You Could’ve Just Said That, coming from LA-based indie label Mother West on January 31.
