Join Phil for an approachable introduction to the simple, versatile instruments known as the ukulele. The ukulele is a terrific instrument to start your musical journey. Its small size and light weight makes it a great starter instrument for teens, while its versatility and ease of play makes it an excellent choice for adults too! Learn just a few simple chords, and you’ll be able to play hundreds of songs – best part, no prior experience needed! This experience is designed to give teen and adult participants the confidence to play in a group and on their own. Phil will encourage chord playing and keeping time in a group, as well as explore music theory, and playing a full song together and individually. You will learn 5 of the most common chords in C Major (the most popular musical key), and strumming (plus fingerpicking, scales & solo’ing) styles to discover your own ability & unique musical personality to shine through (even in a group) everyone will explore & develop their own style.
