About Us

The New York Callis Ensemble is a chamber ensemble based in Westchester, bringing new and old works alike to audiences in and around New York City. Our programs aim to bridge the gaping disconnect between contemporary music and the music of the enshrined past by introducing new works in a historical context. We strive to make the new less alien and more accessible; and the old less banal and more sanguine. We are excited to weave ourselves into the social fabric of today’s classical music scene with relevant and relatable programs, inviting the audience to both discover and rediscover what music means to us in this day and age. Callis Ensemble members have won top prizes in international competitions and have toured extensively across the globe, and include graduates of the Curtis Institute of Music, The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music, The Colburn School, and Indiana University.
